A Single's Guide to Valentine's Day

A Single's Guide to Valentine's Day

Rocking the solo status this Valentine’s Day? Here are our favorite ways to celebrate!

Ahh, Valentine’s Day. The romance, the hearts, the pink (ALL the pink), the little cherubs floating in the air…and if you’re single on and around February 14, the thought of all off this…stuff…probably makes you want to ram Cupid’s arrow into a box of chocolates.

But before you grab that arrow and wind up, consider this: maybe Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to get back to number one and indulge in a little self-love. That’s right – you can celebrate with yourself on Valentine’s Day!

If you’re thinking “they’re not talking about taking myself on a date, are they?” then rest assured, that’s exactly what we’re talking about. You don’t need a partner to enjoy Valentine’s Day and be reminded of how special you are. Check out seven of our favorite ways to spend Valentine’s Day solo and keep the focus on yourself!

  1. Cook a Meal: We keep hearing there’s something romantic about cooking with a partner, but we’re fans of making our favorite meal or finding an exciting new one, and NOT bumping into another person the entire time.Vday1.jpg

  2. Enjoy a Pampering Session: We’re all about feeling fabulous, and what better way to do that than by letting someone else pamper you? Treat yourself to an evening at the salon for a mani/pedi, hair styling, facial, or even a massage. You deserve it!

  3. Write Yourself a Love Note: Okay, we’re not actually suggesting you buy yourself a Valentine’s card and gift it to yourself (unless you’re into that, no judgement!); but a day all about love is the perfect time to reflect on all the things you love about yourself. Write it down and keep it somewhere you can look at it when you’re having a bad day or feeling down. Remembering why you’re awesome keeps the lovin’ feeling going and going!

  4. Soak It Up: Few things are more luxurious and soothing than the perfect bubble bath, and lucky you – we’ve put together all the ingredients you need for the perfect DIY Bubble Bath kit to enjoy on Valentine’s Day! Check it out!Vday2-(1).jpg

  5. Buy Yourself Chocolates: Who says you need someone else to buy you sweets? Pick your favorite treat, indulge, and feel no remorse when you have more than one…or two…or, who are we kidding, finish off the whole package.

  6. Hang Out with Fellow Singles: If you’re more of an extrovert who can’t stand the thought of being cooped up on Valentine’s Day, gather your single friends and grab a bite to eat, see a movie, check out a band at your favorite spot, or just spend the evening hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.Vday7-(1).jpg

  7. Do Absolutely Nothing: What did we say earlier? This is the perfect day for you to focus on yourself; so, if you choose to tuck in early and snooze through the evening, or sit in meditative silence, we’re perfectly happy with whatever makes you happy.

No matter how you choose to spend your single Valentine’s Day, we hope you enjoy reconnecting with yourself and realizing how truly incredible you really are. Happy Valentine’s Day!
