FROM ONE SUCCESSFUL YEAR TO THE NEXT...PBF IS READY TO TAKE ON 2018!

It is a momentous time to be a woman, and we are proud to share highlights following another fantastic year for the Patty Brisben Foundation! PBF’s mission is to improve and strengthen women’s knowledge of their sexual health and well-being. As a national leader in bringing focus to sexual health concerns for women around the world, we are grateful for the support received and partnerships developed that allow us to fund research and programs for women everywhere.

Learn More About How PBF Made a Difference in 2017!

  • A study at the University of Kentucky evaluated the effect that motherhood has on sexual desire in women. Researchers are working with 190 couples living with children at home and have found that using positive communication strategies are significantly related to sexual satisfaction and relationship satisfaction.
  • An intervention program at Massachusetts General Hospital was implemented among 45 gynecologic patients receiving pelvic radiation therapy – emphasizing the use of vaginal dilators, lubricants and moisturizers through resources and education.
  • Wright State University is evaluating the impact of Vitamin D treatment in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
  • In rural South Africa, funds provided to Topsy Foundation supported the development of a program that offered training to staff to increase women’s awareness on cervical cancer, breast cancer, sexually transmitted diseases and general women’s health.
  • Mass General’s Survivorship Program screened 151 patients in transplant clinic for sexual dysfunction, and enrolled patients in intervention process including assessment, therapy and education leading to encouraging outcomes.
  • The Program in Vulvar Health at Oregon Health & Science University is studying the very common problem of pain with sex after menopause by using estrogen cream applied in a new location and with a new longer regimen.

FROM QUEEN BEES TO GALA GLAM...

For the first time in 2017, PBF partnered with the Queen Bee organization in Cincinnati to host a Virtual 4 Miler that allowed runners and walkers across the country to complete 4 miles in their hometowns, and fundraise in support of women’s sexual health. We are so proud of those who participated! Thanks to the engagement of nearly 600 individuals, we raised over $10,000 to further our mission. Following the success of this first year event, we’re happy to announce we will be partnering once again in 2018 for the 2nd Annual Queen Bee Virtual 4 Miler to support PBF. Stay tuned for details on how to register and start training for this Bee-Atch in 2018...
